Alfreton Park Community Special School Learning together for personal success
On Thursday 22nd September, Western Power will be interrupting the electricity supply to the buildings on Alfreton Park. We will open to staff at 10.30 to allow them to prepare for pupils, and pupils will arrive at 11.00. We will then close slightly early at 15.00 to ensure we don’t run into any trouble should the power go off at 15.30

Here at Alfreton Park Community Special School we have many pupils who have Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy programmes, which have been written by qualified Physiotherapists who regularly visit our pupils in school.

We have a fulltime Therapy Worker who has a weekly timetable to work with the pupils in groups and one to one sessions to maintain and improve their movement. Regular physiotherapy improves the quality of life for our individual pupils with physical disabilities. Every opportunity is given to our pupils to become as physically independent as possible in the classroom, outside and in the community. We have a wide range of equipment including the hydrotherapy pool which helps support the developmental movement in a range of holistic ways and which enhances the pupils’ wellbeing.

Physiotherapy programmes are implemented in school throughout the day by the Therapy Link Worker and the class staff working together.
