To All Pupils, Staff, Governors, Parents & Carers
At its meeting on 16th January 2020 the council’s Cabinet agreed to carry out a consultation about a proposal to change the Derbyshire Youth Council (DYC) for more representative arrangements to increase the number of young people taking part in local democracy.
Young people have told us that the DYC is a great way to discuss relevant issues and make a difference but they also raised concerns that it was not representative and only benefited a small number of young people.
We would like to ask for your support in making the ‘The Big Consultation’ a success by completing our short questionnaire below and encouraging others, especially young people to do the same.
The consultation will take place between 24th January and 17th April after which we will consider all the responses and report back on the results and next steps.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know what you think and I look forward to receiving your contribution to the consultation. If you want to ask any questions or need help in completing the questionnaire please contact:
