Alfreton Park Community Special School Learning together for personal success

We focus learning at Alfreton Park on learning to become as independent as possible, developing communication and social skills, as well as maximising physical development.

This education involves lots of educational visits locally, nationally and internationally. We aim to offer all of our pupils many and varied life experiences.

These may include:

  • Using local shops and amenities.
  • Residential trips – for example to the seaside, Lea Green or sailing.
  • Horse riding and other sports activities.
  • Cultural visits to our friend in other European countries.
  • Educational trips to museums, science parks, etc.

The ability to take part in such activities not only provides education, but best of all our brilliant pupils have a fantastic time!!

Our school minibus is used every day by different groups and our pupils really look forward to these days out.

Unfortunately, the bus is getting old and is increasingly off the road due to costly breakdowns.

We have launched an appeal to raise money for a new minibus and with prices starting at around £35,000 are looking for support to reach our goal.
