Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.

The Pupil Premium is deployed by schools to narrow the attainment gap between students from lower income families and their peers by ensuring that this funding reaches the pupils who need it most.

The Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011 by the Government in addition to main school funding.

Schools have the freedom to spend this funding as they see fit based upon their knowledge of students’ needs.

Students who may be supported by Pupil Premium include:

  • Students in receipt of free school meals or who have claimed FSM in the last six years
  • Students who are looked after by the Local Authority
  • The children of Armed Service families
  • Has been adopted from care since December 2005
