Alfreton Park Community Special School Learning together for personal success

School Council

Our School Council represents the views of all our pupils. It gives children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.

The school highly values the view of its pupils and has a School Council made up of members elected from each class.

The School Council meets regularly to discuss what the pupils like about school and what they would like to improve. They plan social activities such as the regular discos in school and fundraising activities.

Additionally, they discuss items such as safety in school and school dinners. They contribute to Governors meeting reporting back on their findings. They have also voiced their opinions on what they would like to see in our new school.

Here are some of our new school council reps for September 2020 – July 2021 our first job is to find out how our friends feel coming back to school after lockdown.  What makes our friends feel good? and Who makes them happy? We can’t wait to find out the answers in our first virtual meeting.
